The Corrales
Historical Society was founded in 1974 as a non-profit organization
that could care for and manage Corrales' century-old San Ysidro Church
after the parish moved to a new larger building. For many years CHS
concentrated on the restoration of the church, ensuring that its
essential historic features were kept while its usefulness as a
community resource was enhanced. This task is now completed, although
maintenance is on-going. The Society also promotes greater appreciation
and better understanding of the history and traditions of the community
of Corrales, a centuries-old agricultural village just north of
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
